On February 13, 2026, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, spoke at a panel discussion titled "Defining Eurasia's Strategic Order: The Middle Corridor - European Security Agenda for Stability, Peace, Security, and Connectivity" within the framework of the Munich Security Conference. The panel also featured speeches by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Maka Botchorishvili, and the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Odile Renaud-Basso.
During his speech, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov provided detailed information on Azerbaijan's position regarding the assurance of sustainable peace and security in the South Caucasus, the steps taken particularly after the historic Washington Summit, and the policies implemented by Azerbaijan towards regional security and stability.
It was noted that the removal of transit restrictions on cargo destined for Armenia and the steps taken towards the sale of oil products from Azerbaijan to Armenia have contributed to the formation of a stable environment unprecedented in recent decades.
Furthermore, it was emphasized that Armenia's granting of relevant permissions for the export of goods through Azerbaijan to third countries, as well as meetings between think-tank representatives and experts, serve as significant confidence-building measures.
It was stressed that for the signing of the initial peace agreement and the further advancement of the normalisation agenda, it is of critical importance to eliminate territorial claims against Azerbaijan in the Armenian constitution and to achieve real progress in the implementation of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project, in accordance with the Washington Declaration.
It was reminded that President Ilham Aliyev's policy is focused on measures to prevent our region from becoming an arena for regional competition and confrontation.
During the panel discussions, the Minister also shared information on the large-scale infrastructure work, investments, and regulatory coordination measures implemented by Azerbaijan to strengthen the Middle Corridor. It was reported that a joint Roadmap was adopted between Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkey, and Georgia to simplify transshipment procedures along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, resulting in a significant reduction in transit times and an increase in cargo volume.
The importance of inclusive connectivity projects, including the TRIPP initiative, was highlighted, noting the potential for more active participation by the European Union, as well as the vital roles of Turkey and Georgia in developing regional transport links.
Additionally, joint projects and efforts carried out by Azerbaijan with Central Asia to develop regional connectivity were brought to the audience's attention.
